Executive Office Furniture Buying Guide for Saudi Companies

How to specify executive desks, boardrooms and private office furniture so the visible floors of a Saudi project meet the standard they are judged against.

Executive areas are a small part of the furniture quantity and a large part of the perceived quality of a project. They are also the part most likely to be re-ordered, re-finished or criticised if the specification is not handled carefully.

The executive package, not the executive desk

A private office is judged as a room, not as a desk. The package normally includes the main desk, a return or side unit, a credenza or storage wall, meeting seating, and often a small table for two-to-four-person discussions.

Specifying these as a coordinated set from one production run keeps veneer, lacquer and hardware consistent. Buying them from separate sources at different times is how a room ends up with three slightly different wood tones.

Finishes: what to decide and what to delegate

  • Surface material — veneer, lacquer, high-pressure laminate, solid surface or stone
  • Gloss level — matte is more forgiving and easier to maintain; high gloss is more dramatic and shows marks
  • Edge detail — square, chamfered or profiled, and how the edge is finished
  • Leather or inlay — position, colour and stitching
  • Metal and accent details — brushed stainless, dark metal or painted
  • Hardware — handles, locks and grommets, which are conspicuously visible on executive furniture

The boardroom table is a technical item

Boardroom furniture is where the AV brief intersects with joinery. Cut-outs for power modules, positions for microphones, routes for display cabling and access panels for maintenance all have to be agreed before manufacture.

Two structural questions decide most of the design: does the table need a central cable column, and can it be built in linkable segments? A segmented table can be reconfigured later and is far easier to move through a building.

Dimensions that actually work

SpaceWorking dimension
Executive desk1800–2400 mm wide, 900–1000 mm deep
Meeting seating clear width700–750 mm per person
Meeting table width1200–1500 mm minimum for two-sided seating
Return / side unit1200–1600 mm
Credenza1800–2000 mm, 450–500 mm deep
Circulation behind desk900 mm minimum for a chair plus operator
Circulation behind meeting chairs900–1200 mm for chair movement and service access

Sampling is not optional in this category

On executive packages, approve a full finish sample — ideally a finished panel of the main surface with the edge treatment — and view it in the actual space or under comparable light. Photographs systematically misrepresent veneer and gloss.

Where the package includes leather, approve the hide sample. Where it includes stone, approve the actual slab or a visually matched sample, because natural stone varies more than any drawing can show.

Budget where it is seen

A practical allocation for a Saudi corporate project is to hold the operational floors on a disciplined, repeatable specification, and to concentrate finish quality in the executive, boardroom and reception areas. Upgrading everything uniformly usually spends budget where no one looks.

What to send us

Send the interior design intent, the room schedule, quantities and the AV brief where relevant. We will return a costed executive package with the specification restated line by line, and confirm sample and production lead times before anything is manufactured.

Send your project requirement

A BOQ, specification or product list with quantities is enough to start. We will come back with questions and a costed response.
